Attraction has many a definition which vary from particle attraction to gravitational forces. But today we intend to talk about interpersonal attraction.

Interpersonal attraction is the attraction between people that leads to friendships and romantic relationships.

Interpersonal attraction is responsible for the emotion that we feel towards people. Emotions like love, hate, dislike are because of interpersonal attraction.

Attraction is highly subjective phenomenon and varies from person to person. What may be attractive to one person could be highly repulsive to other.

Physical Attractiveness

Attraction is based on physical attractiveness. People are attracted towards persons whom they find attractivde.

Propinquity

Propinquity refers to physical proximity or nearness. People living on the same floor of a building, for example, have a higher propinquity than those living on different floors. Propinquity can mean physical proximity, a kinship between people, or a similarity in nature between things.

People are more attracted to people around them than who are not.

Familiarity

It is easier to get attracted to a person if you know him/her.

Similarity

People are more attracted to the people whom they ind resembling them in body or nature.
