Let Shyness not Be An Obstacle
August 14, 2008 by Arun Pal Singh · Leave a Comment
Shyness is a trait. Shy persons usually remain contained in themselves. They are not outspoken or extrovert. They are one of those persons who turn red up to their ears, loose their breath, remain speechless, have trembling knees etc under certain circumstances.
It is generally thought that the shy persons are usually left behind in terms of achievement and other aspects of life. Some people even believe that it is one of the worse things that can happen to a person.
Guess what? You might be wrong! In fact it might just be contrary.
They are those people who go to the supermarket and are afraid even to talk with the sales person. They turn red before saying the first words and when they do they never say it loud enough, so they have to repeat it. No matter how hard they try, it goes worse every time. The more they strive not to blush, the redder they become.
What about work?
Shy persons never get bored at work, as they are always trying to observe the others and improve themselves. It is widely accepted that timid persons know a lot of things about human character in general, although they normally do not dare to get in contact with many persons. But they do study humans more diligently.
In spite of the fact that during teen age these persons had usually no social life, most of them grew up as great human resources managers or psychologists, precisely because being left outside the group, they could analyze the others better.
There is another great thing about introverted people. They are, just like us all, curious and, since they normally have nobody to ask, they start reading books or research on the internet. Eventually they turn out be well read persons of immense knowledge.
As a result, shy persons have all the opportunities in the world to get good positions, in almost any field. They are hard working, they can keep their mouth shut and they can be loyal. If you are shy you have this distinct advantage. Shy people give others a feeling of serenity. They do not seem capable of talking over somebody else’s private issues.
These kinds of persons are fighters because they need to prove themselves. If you are member of this group do not be embarrassed! Your group mates are among the most motivated persons, since they have a well established purpose they want to reach.
But on the personal aspect they might feel insecure because of their shy trait and lack capacity to overcome it. It is said that shy people with little help can get the rid of this introvertness and help them to achieve even higher with all their other characters being favorable.
A little daring act could do wonders for them. If you dare, you will see the rest of it comes along!
Just because you are shy does not mean that you will lag behind others.

Is Self Improvement Stuff helpful?
August 13, 2008 by Arun Pal Singh · Leave a Comment
It was long time back when I was still in my MBBS years. One of my friend was reading ‘7 Habits of Highly Succesful People’. He was quite impressed with the book and recommended that to me.
“I do not need all this improvement stuff”, I replied, I am quite content with the way I am.”
As the time passed I could not help at introspection. Slowly my ego humbled and I found the flaws with myself. I was arrogant. I was poor at time management. I was hesitant to start a conversation. I never scheduled my goals. I was more emotional than practical.
I was always a good student. I was best in my school days. I was competitive. I did strive to do the best. But the very best was always determined by my surroundings. It is a different when you perform at local schoool level in a countryside school. But it is different when you compete at national level to enter into medical college. Read more
